Schools Workshops

With strong educational backgrounds Vicki and Jonny can run workshops for Children. Vicki has a Masters degree in education and is an experienced ensemble arranger having worked as a peripatetic instrumental teacher for many years. Jonny is an ex cathedral chorister and close harmony singer and also an experienced arranger. Vicki has Qualified Teacher Status and both have enhanced CRB checks in place. Workshops can be delivered around specific curriculum requirements depending on the subjects being taught in school at that time.

Musical Instruments Show and Tell
Using a broad range of instruments that span thousands of years and round the globe this workshop can be used in either the cassroom or as an assembly. Instruments used span thousands of years across the whole globe and can be linked into the curriculum of both history, geography, citizenship and more.

Sessions for Children

A relaxed mixed tune / song session for under 16s. Dots and chords can be provided, but predominantly a ear-y experience.

Folk Group Playing for Children

Folk music arrangements for children to play. An ability to read music would be useful (but not a barrier) to gain the full ensemble experience.

The groups can be split in combinations of:

age – primary / secondary

ability – beginner / advanced

instrument – full orchestral / wind band / woodwind, string or brass ensemble

Two and three part harmony for all voices.

Sheet music or 'learning by ear' depending upon group.

Original material and/or traditional songs.

Easy/intermediate, primary and secondary
